First off, sorry for the delay in updates. New posts will be blogged regularly for our dedicated readers =)

The Loretto Abbey & St. Mike's Badminton Team has gotten off to a good start this year, and we have competed in the following league tournaments to date:

LAT/SMC vs. McGuigan [Mon. Feb. 25] (cancelled)
LAT/SMC (6) vs. Romero (3) [Wed. Feb. 27]
LAT/SMC (6) vs. Neil/Notre Dame (3) [Thurs. March 7]
LAT/SMC (2) vs. Charbonnel (7) [Mon. March 25]
LAT/SMC (1) vs. Brebeuf/St.Joe's (8) [Wed. March 27]
LAT/SMC vs. Libermann [Tues. April 2] (postponed/cancelled) *TBA*
LAT/SMC (4) vs. Del (5) [Thurs. Apr. 4]

The team is commended for their superb efforts and great team spirit at these tournaments =) Good job everyone!!

The TDCAA Badminton Tournaments are next week (April 9th and April 11th). We are looking forward to a great experience, and hopefully, we can bring back some medals in the meantime =P

Thank-you for the great turnout and active participation from all those who tried out for this year's badminton team! We are grateful for the amount of enthusiasm shown at the try-outs. Unfortunately, we can only take a limited number of people for the team. Therefore, a final cut had to be made.
The decisions were based upon skill, attendance, enthusiasm, and dedication. Those who didn't make the team this year, please do try out again; it’s a whole new set of tryouts next year! =)
Congratulations to those who made it! We look forward to seeing you at our next practice after the Christmas break. =)

Important Notice:
We will be having practice this friday for everyone that made the team. (See lists below) Yes EVERYONE. Please come prepared to play as we will be rotating on our 3 non-full size courts. =) If you cannot make this practice please let Ms. Musalem or Donna or myself know THANX!

Secondly, as you might know, our anticipated practice at the boulevard club sort of fell through for the past sunday. We are trying to plan this again for the comming sunday. The boulevard club is located at 1491 lakeshore past the CNE frounds if your'e on the gradiner you get off at Dune. Look it up on a map =) Please let us know if you are able to come or not, either in school or email or phone. Also, white colored clothing is preferred, if not white, then black. No bright pink, neon green, yellow, etc etc etc. =) Thats it for now!

Update! =) Jus so you all know that we're both still very much alive...=) We had a junior and senior practice last friday. Due to the dance tonight, there was no practice this friday. We are still yet unsure about having practice next Friday due to circumstances beyond our control. We are hoping to have a practice for bantams next, so don't worry, we didn't forget you guys! =) We are also trying to work out a practice outside of school, on Sunday afternoon next week. (not this sunday, the next) It will run from 2-4pm and will be held at the boulevard club, downtown. When we are able to confirm this we will let you know more, but let us know if you're free and interested!

Thank you to all the Bantams that came to try out on Friday after school. Congratulations goes out to all who made the team!! For the rest of the people, don't give up! There's always next year's team! So remember to come out again! =) Again, congratulations to all who made it to this year's badminton team: *alphabetically*

Tryouts being finalized! We will be holding Bantam tryouts - Friday, Oct. 26th afterschool in the gym!!!
This is for anyone interested in trying out for the team and was born after Sept 1st 1986. That's ALL Gr.9s and any Gr.10s that were born after Sept. 1st! =) Once again, this MAY last a while depending on the turnout, if you are unable to stay, please either let Donna or myself know asap or you can talk to Ms. Musalem directly in school. Spread the word and see you all there!
